It is the intent of the P.E curriculum to:
- develop fundamental movements as a foundation to access life-long sport and be active
- develop co-operation and team building through active sport and adventurous activities
- develop personal awareness of physical health as part of personal well being
PE will be taught at least twice weekly to allow for the maximum impact of keeping children fit and healthy. Building key skills of team games, ball skills and fitness will underpin the curriculum. Swimming will be planned in the curriculum for all children in KS2.
We use Get Set 4 PE to support our delivery of PE lessons with a significant focus also placed on Sports Leadership. We apply the 6 phases of the lesson from other subjects to support with strong and effective implementation.
Physical Development is a key focus in the school with opportunities maximised through the school day to develop and practise skills- including break times and extra-curricular clubs.
