At Silfield Oak Primary Academy, computing is taught across four golden threads, the combination of which ensures our students grow up to become true digital natives who understand technology, recognise its potential and limitations, know how to use it safely and are able to take advantage of different tools to create their own, meaningful, digital content.

The threads are:

• Digital Creativity

In EYFS children start using iPads through Digital Literacy sessions and then they use them independently to capture their designs and extend their learning. We have increasing opportunities for children access and use a wide range of technology across the provision.

Alongside Computing lessons, children have at least half termly Online Safety lessons in RSHE/PSHE.
